McIntosh & Associates utilizes Trimble G.P.S. Total Station R8 Receivers for G.P.S. surveys. With the Trimble G.P.S. Total Station, McIntosh & Associates can generate centimeter level coordinates while surveying a point - without requiring line of site, without having to point an instrument and in any weather condition.

This is made possible by using Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) surveying, which includes dual frequency receivers with a radio communication line. By utilizing this technology, surveying productivity of over 100% have been common compared to optical surveying techniques on larger scaled surveys.

SURVEY CREWS
One-Person Survey Crew
All survey crews include supervision and coordination by a Party Chief with at least ten (10) years of experience. A one-person survey crew can be utilized for most types of surveys such as, construction, oil field, topographic and boundaries using the Trimble 5600 “one-person” robotic instrument and Trimble R8 G.P.S. receivers. The use of the Trimble 5600 with a one-man crew is equivalent to a two-person crew.

Two-Person Survey Crew
All survey crews include supervision and coordination by a Party Chief with at least ten (10) years of experience and a Surveyor with at least three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a chainman. A two-person survey crew increases the speed at which a one-person crew can perform the work. All survey crews are trained to perform various construction staking, types of surveys including oil field construction, A.L.T.A., topographic and boundary surveys. The use of the Trimble 5600 with a two-person crew is equivalent to a three-person crew.
The Trimble 5600 and Trimble G.P.S. has been proven to improve the speed of a two-man crew by 50% while maintaining the required accuracy in surveying.
